# SIAMS SEF: Anglican and Methodist School Self-Evaluation

> Evaluate and evidence your SIAMS framework for Church of England and Methodist schools, with an inspection-ready two-page summary at the touch of a button.

SIAMS — the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools — is a Section 48 inspection that sits alongside, but is entirely separate from, the standard Ofsted Section 5 inspection. It examines how well a school's Christian or Methodist ethos permeates its life, curriculum, and community. Every Church of England and Methodist designated school is subject to SIAMS inspection, and maintaining a structured self-evaluation against the SIAMS framework throughout the year is the most effective way to be ready when an inspection is scheduled. This module provides the complete framework structure so your senior team can evaluate, evidence, and update your SIAMS SEF at any point, and produce the inspection-ready format SIAMS requires at short notice.

## Key Features

* **SIAMS framework pre-loaded** — all SIAMS criteria and descriptors are built into the module, so you begin with the correct inspection structure in place rather than building it yourself from a blank document.
* **Criteria-level evidence recording** — against each individual SIAMS criterion you can record your school's evaluation and attach or link supporting evidence to substantiate your judgements.
* **Area summaries with four key details** — for each area of the SIAMS framework you complete a structured summary covering recent actions taken, the impact of those actions, strengths, and priorities for further development. These single-page summaries are clear and accessible for governors, wider leadership, and SIAMS inspectors.
* **Contextual and inspection history sections** — set your school in its community context and document progress against priorities raised at your last SIAMS inspection.
* **Inspection-ready print format** — SIAMS has specific requirements for the version of the SEF shared at inspection (including a two-page summary and no numerical grade evaluation). The module produces a print format that meets these requirements automatically.
* **Governor- and staff-ready output** — area summaries are written at a level that can be shared with your full governing body and wider staff without needing to expose the full criteria-level detail.

  This module is designed for Church of England-designated and Methodist-designated schools. If your school has a Catholic designation, use the **Catholic SEF** module instead, which is aligned to the Catholic Schools Inspection framework.
