Internal vs External Applicants

The Applications module handles two distinct groups differently, so you get the right level of information from each without creating unnecessary friction. Internal applicants (your current Year 11 students) don’t need to fill in a full application — you already have their details. Instead, they simply log in and record which subjects they’d like to study in the sixth form. This gives you an early picture of demand across your curriculum without asking students to complete forms they don’t need. External applicants (students from other schools) complete a fuller application form, providing personal information, their current school, and their subject preferences. This gives you the data you need to assess interest and plan capacity. Both groups feed into the same planning view, so you have a complete picture of likely enrolment and subject demand in one place.
Use the Applications module before your open event to capture pre-registrations, and again afterwards to follow up with students who attended. This gives you a marketing pipeline as well as an admissions tool.
